About Us

Founded in 1992, ARES Corporation is an award-winning space and defense company, providing innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions on-time and within budget to high value-programs.  Our clients include the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Missile Defense Agency, Space Force, Air Force Research Laboratory, and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

The ARES name is derived from the work we do – using applied research and engineering sciences to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges. Our roots in quality run deep. Founded in 1992 as an engineering consulting firm, we have provided safety and mission assurance services to the Federal Government for over 30 years. From radiological waste retrieval to quantitative risk assessments for the International Space Station and Ballistic Missile Defense system, our company ensures the success of multi-billion-dollar Government programs.

Our work has evolved to meet our Nation’s most difficult challenges in the domains of program management, safety and mission assurance, operations, engineering, integration and testing, and information technology. Our teams apply risk-informed decision-making to everything we do, helping our clients tackle their most difficult challenges with their eyes open. Through holistic, continuous risk management best practices and data-driven decision making, we create opportunities through risk insight.

In 2022, ARES became a 100% employee-owned company through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). This path allows us to continue to be an independently-managed company, focused on long-term success with an employee-centered culture. As owners, our employees are deeply invested in the success of our client’s mission, creating a collaborative, productive work environment where everyone strives toward a common goal.

Dedication to Diversity and Inclusion

At ARES, we believe that by attracting and developing a diverse team we will be better prepared to meet emerging customer challenges. We welcome and value employees with unique backgrounds because we know that diversity generates ingenuity and strength. With a vast range of skills, experiences, and wisdom, we can provide an environment where everyone can develop professionally and build rewarding careers. As we have demonstrated time and again, a diverse mixture of thought, communication styles, and accomplishments make for more innovating and lasting solutions.

ARES ensures that every individual is respected and appreciated for their unique contributions to our team. The acknowledgement of every worker’s individuality and uniqueness promotes the success and improvement of all employees and ARES as a whole. The personal achievements and mutual respect of our employees has increased our productivity and ability to be innovative. ARES ensures that all employees have the opportunity to reach their full potential and make their maximum contribution. The best and brightest have gotten ARES where it is today. As such, ARES continuously strives to present innovative solutions for our clients and promote a comprehensive work environment in which all of our employees are fully engaged and committed to high-quality results.

We Shall Have Fun!

We promote a culture of continuous learning, exploration, and collaboration. We work hard because our Country and our missions deserve it. We aren’t afraid to fail, and we encourage taking calculated risks in order to learn and grow. The work that we do is exciting and challenging, and we’ve demonstrated that an engaged workforce with a sense of shared responsibility improves camaraderie and morale. To that end, we invest in our employees through a competitive benefits package, employee appreciation programs, professional development and training opportunities, and social gatherings.

We firmly believe in investing in our local communities, and have created tailored programs at each of our operating locations that serve the surrounding areas and provide opportunities for our employees to participate.

Examples of our social programs:

  • Partnering with the United Way to fight poverty.
  • Marine Corps Toys for Tots program that distributes toys to less fortunate children.
  • Local Food Drives for hunger-relief.
  • Leveraging the Department of Defense SkillBridge program to support transitioning military service members.
