ARES Corporation has been named the Large Business Prime Contractor of the Year by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the Agency’s 2022 Small Business Industry Awards (SBIA) program. The Agency-Level award follows ARES’ 2022 Center-Level Large Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award at Kennedy Space Center (KSC).
The SBIA program, managed by NASA’s Office of Small Business Programs, recognizes outstanding contractors that support NASA in achieving its mission. The awards acknowledge exceptional performances on NASA contracts, responsiveness to customer requirements, and innovative solutions to challenging problems.
“We are immensely honored to receive this award,” said Tom P’Simer, CEO of ARES. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work, expertise and dedication of our exceptional team. It highlights our 25+ year partnership with NASA and our shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of exploration and scientific achievement.”
ARES was nominated by NASA KSC, where ARES serves as the prime contractor on the KLXS-III Contract, providing programmatic support to Artemis’ KSC Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) organization. As an integral part of EGS, KLXS-III is instrumental in helping EGS manage all life cycle phases of current and future Artemis missions and ensuring that KSC develops a sustainable infrastructure to launch Artemis missions to the moon. The KSC nomination acknowledges ARES for our innovative, future-leaning approach. By steering for the curve ahead, our team has furthered affordability initiatives, developed new staffing solutions, and provided outstanding Artemis mission support.
“Our awesome KLXS team comes to work every day with a strong commitment to putting astronauts back on the moon,” said Phil Mongan, ARES KLXS Program Manager. “We are honored NASA is recognizing our conviction and teamwork in accomplishing the Artemis mission with this incredible award.”
